Full Journal pdf2016-04-15 Senate Journal Page 2536 HJR 14 CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 14(STA) Making application to the United States Congress to call a convention of the states to propose a countermand amendment to the Constitution of the United States as provided under art. V, Constitution of the United States; and urging the legislatures of the other 49 states to make the same application, was read the second time. Senator Stoltze, Chair, moved and asked unanimous consent for the adoption of the State Affairs Senate Committee Substitute offered on page 2491. Senator Gardner objected, then withdrew her objection. There being no further objection, SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 14(STA) was adopted. Senator Wielechowski offered Amendment No. 1 : Page 2, line 7: Delete "judicial decision," Senator Wielechowski moved for the adoption of Amendment No. 1. Senator Stoltze objected. The question being: "Shall Amendment No. 1 be adopted?" The roll was taken with the following result: 2016-04-15 Senate Journal Page 2537 SCS CSHJR 14(STA) Second Reading Amendment No. 1? YEAS: 4 NAYS: 16 EXCUSED: 0 ABSENT: 0 Yeas: Egan, Ellis, Gardner, Wielechowski Nays: Bishop, Coghill, Costello, Dunleavy, Giessel, Hoffman, Huggins, Kelly, MacKinnon, McGuire, Meyer, Micciche, Olson, Stedman, Stevens, Stoltze and so, Amendment No. 1 failed. Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the resolution be considered engrossed, advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Senator Gardner objected. President Meyer stated SENATE CS FOR CS FOR HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 14(STA) will advance to third reading on the April 16 calendar.
